Chetwyn Rodgers Development Center Seeks to Make Technology the Great Emancipator

by Martin Munangatire
According to Pastor Curtis Rodgers, Chief Executive Officer, of Chetwyn Rodgers Development Center, "Only through the acquisition of technology can African Americans partake in the gold-rush that is the information age."
He believes that African American are just as dynamic as any other group in terms of starting businesses. "Our biggest challenge, is that we do not harvest our creativity in proven systems. These systems allow us to leverage our abilities and also troubleshoot business plans for feasibility and relevance."
Rodgers believes that web Blogging is the way of the future just as a web site was 10 years ago. The key component is that the data exchanged is uploaded in real time, which also allows 2 way communication. Rodgers says "technology will level the playing for ant business, since it eliminates the need for costly infrastructures which become a barrier to entry." The essence of this program is that if someone wants to start a beauty shop online, they can do it by simply building a blog page that potential customers can view. An added benefit of this, is that your average web customer will be qualified and be less reluctant to pay your price.
Chetwyn Rodgers Development Center also offers classes to support the comminities thirst for this technology. The classes offered have five levels each varying in intensity and duration. This program is a culmination of 18 years of challenging the community to be self-sufficienct and ambitiously determined to excel.
